The “Udovice” Restaurant has the tradition since 1953, when the food was being cooked and prepared in the «old houses» for workers and chance travellers. Today, the restaurant gives out a refined ratio between traditional and modern architecture. It has 120 seats, car-park area and children's playground. A roasted lamb's meat and grilled meats have been traditionally prepared for very many years already. The food preparation on beech-wooden coal, the best type and quality of meat that is always fresh gives a special aroma and sensation to the lunch.
The „Udovice“ Restaurant is situated on the path between Mostar and Čitluk at a place called Sretnice. It stands out for its gastronomic offer and home cooking. The restaurant has a long standing tradition which started in 1950s when two widows, Kata and Ruža Kordić, came up with the idea to prepare food for field laborers who were working on the nearby arable lands. Since 1953, the traditional Herzegovinian dishes have been prepared in this house. Very soon guests adopted the expression: “We shall eat at the widows." (Croatian: Udovice = English: Widows)
